How do you stay awake at night during the night shift when you're used to working days?
I'm used to working a few day shifts a month at a hospital, so I'm not used to sleeping during the day. I have the opportunity to work a night shift - how do I make it through one whole night without falling asleep?

Before you go in to work eat a meal with a lot of protein and fiber - avoid carbs - pastas and such.. the sugar will burn fast and you will feel tired. Proteins and fiber take longer to digest and give you more fuel to work on. Caffeine, if you aren't adverse to that, for a quick pick up about half way through the shift.
