is a watt sun glow bulb good for a 20 gallon high planted aquarium with amazon swords and brazilian swords?
i bought a 15 bucks sun glow bulb and i was told that it was good for planted aquariums i have a 20 gallon high and in it theres amazon sword and anubis and a brazilian sword by the way is a brazilian sword a under water plant i was told that it wasnt anyway does the `15 watt bulb good and i also will use the plant food stufff will my plants grow healthy if it deosnt i looked at the other bulbs for planted aquariums and they all are 15 watts for the size of my hood or can i find a higher watt bulb with the same size as the one for my hood
also it has 1 fully grown angel and a medium angel and a pearl gourami and 2 medium corys how ofthen should i du water changes since there only 5 fish in it and will the fish help give co2 for the plant and will there waste be used by plants which helps clean the water ?
The Brazilian sword is not an aquatic plant will will rot in your tank. The Amazon sword needs high lighting, about 3-5 watts per gallon. The anubias likes low lighting about 1-2 watts per gallon.
You have a tall tank, I wouldn't expect the swords to live. The anubias should do fine.
To get a bulb of higher wattage you need a new fixture. Compact fluorescent lights in the spectrum of 6700k would work great. However, they are expensive, so just buy plants that like low lights:
