Are router & switch Config commands the same?
I am doing a packet tracer activity, from PC1 connected to S1 with a console cable through the PC terminal, I need to configure the switch name to S1, and I don't actually remember doing anything but config routers. So are they the same?
the switch is a Cisco 2960-24TT.
Depends if your switch is running ios or not. If so, yes the commands are pretty much the same.
to change the switch name just type "hostname S1" from config mode.
