Installing porcelain tile is becoming more regular, and the challenge of modern day tiler. Customers want the look of natural stone, but require extra strength that porcelain tiles offer. Since porcelain tiles are not porous (impervious to water), and virtually maintenance free, they are the ideal solution for gradual popular style wet bathroom.
Porcelain, being one of the most popular tile materials available, as well as the trend of porcelain tiles will continue, tilers have been forced to adapt its working methods and tools to be able to meet the demands of its customers. Until recently, a large number of tiles retainers evaded installation and drilling porcelain tiles is perceived because of its complexity.
However, drilling holes in porcelain tile is not difficult! Using the correct methods and the best tools to work, you can achieve perfect cuts in seconds. The first step is to correctly determine the size of the holes will be drilled. It is very important, because the diameter of the hole will be cut dictates the method that you use for drilling into tile.
Most of the holes, which are under 10mm in diameter will be drilled with the tiles already fixed to the wall. On the contrary, most of the holes over 10mm in diameter will be drilled on a tile before the tile has been corrected.
When drilling holes that are 13mm or larger in diameter, make sure that the tiles will be drilled and placed in a tray that will collect sewage that is produced. Ensure that scrap tiles or other similar material under the tile that is currently drilled. This will help stop the course of drilling as soon as she finished drilling through the tile.
Before drilling tile, make sure you wear proper safety precautions, including safety glasses or goggles. Make sure you use a RCCB (RCD), to prevent electric shock. Note on water cooling. It is important to ensure that there is a constant supply of cold water to drill, in order to preserve Cool Diamond core and help remove any debris that may be created when drilling tiles. It is not advisable to try to cool the bit of diamond drilling with a manual aspirator, or drilling with a wet sponge. These methods will not be enough to keep the drill cool and will significantly shorten the life of drills.
Ensure that drilling in the "normal" mode and set the drill between 1000 and 1500. Min. If you marked tile with a better marker to drill in the tile using a method called "drawing on. Relying on the guarantees that the drill will not slip, and deviate from the center, as you began to penetrate tile.
How to "lean in" ... To "lean in" just start drilling at an angle, as soon as the drill began to cut a tile, slowly brought to penetrate into the vertical position. Make sure that sufficient pressure is applied (tile dust should be obvious cooling water) and slowly rotate until you cut the perfect hole. As you finish the hole, you'll notice that the tone of drilling will change.
