How can I prevent the gas furnace pilot light from blowing out?

In the last 2 months, if there is a high wind, the pilot light in my Intertherm furnace goes out. The HVAC tech replaced the thermocouple but said there seems to be a heavy downdraft. I have not had a problem like this in the 7 years I have lived in this house. Why now? The temperature here right now is -29C and windchill is -40C. I had to relight the pilot when I got up this morning, at lunch time, and when I got home from work. The service tech says there is nothing further he can do? Is there anything I can do to remedy this, even temporarily, so that I can weather through the storm we are having? Access to the pilot light is through a 2 inch square spring-hinged trap door in the front of the unit. I live in a manufactured home 40' x 40'. Recently a 12' x 4' pc of metal siding blew off the back of my home, which covered the center seam of my house and 2 attic vents are wide open to the elements. Part of the problem with the furnace maybe?

I had similar problem with 2 gas space heaters back in the 70's. They were vented via 6" stovepipe right through the wall, so the entire vent pipe was less than 8". It had a baffle outside, but anytime it was breezy, my pilots would burn out on both of them.
One day I decided to remodel the room they were in, and added a door so the room could be closed of from the rest of the house [there were no doors to close between the front door and the back door]. During a major blizzard, I went to check on the heaters and the pilot light was going strong to my surprise. What happened was, by adding a door, I slowed the natural draft of air that flowed through the house.
I have a feeling that if you buttoned up the home as far as drafts go, the pressure inside your home might drop, and it might eliminate the pilot light blowing out.
