MTX Black Gold subs for home theater. Questions and opinions please?
ok i've got 3 15" (8 ohm) mtx black gold subs never used still in the box. i was wondering if anyone has made an encloser for one, i need the airspace and port depth and also some recomendations for home audio amps to run 2 of them possibly putting them in the bottom of a couch or two. I install car audio for a major retailer so I have knowledge about 12 volt amps but not home amps. can i use rack amps for live bands or should i get something from onkyo, harman, or dennon. ideas and opinions are welcomed. thanks in advance
Pretty much the same principle applies with 120V home subwoofer amplifiers.
I would recommend that you build an enclosure to spec for either one or two subs and use one of these amps to drive them.
Bash and Dayton are some of the best powered subwoofer amps available right now, so if you know how to build the proper sized enclosure, it should sound awesome. Or you can get a pre-made enclosure for some fine results.
