What is the type of electrical meter to test if a 220 outlet is functional?
My dryer suddenly stopped working and I have a couple other electrical issues in the house...but I have no way of knowing if it's the dryer, itself, that's broken or if it's the outlet. I checked the fuse and that's okay.
If you want to see if there is current flowing in your 220V receptacle, you can go to your local hardware store, and pick up one of the simple neon bulb electrical testers for a couple of bucks, and this will do the job. If you want something better to have around, get an inexpensive Volt Ohm Milliameter (VOM), which costs about $25-$30 from Radio Shack. It can perform voltage tests, resistance tests, continuity test, etc.
