Clamp Multimeter
CLAMP METER : can we clamp the clamp meter on the insulation of the hot wire?
do we need to strip off the hot wire (live wire) or can we clamp the clamp meter on the insulation of the hot wire (live wire) ?
how do we get to know that which one is the hot wire (live wire) ?
can we use digital multimeter in place of digital clamp meter & how ?

If you are using a clamp meter to read amperage you need only clamp the meter around the wire. Not on the wire but, around the wire. Be certain the meter is set to the correct amperage rating.
