Car paint just isn't good looking enough. I want my car painted to look like a speed boat with some sort of metallic blue or red paint. Where can I get it and who does it?
Boat paint is not good for a car. That paint is usually
made as a hull paint for fiberglass so that it will resist
the accumulation of growths from the water life, and
to make it 'slick' in this resistance. It is also very
expensive, and can cost even more that a good auto
paint.
On metal boats two types of paint are used. One is the
hull paint below the water level, and the other is regular
equipment paint like you can find at any tractor supply,
or implement company. It is usually just an oil-based
type of paint. Not so great for a good auto paint.
You can get just about any color you want, or can
imagine in automotive paints. They can be a bit
pricey per gallon the more elaborate you want.
Automotive colors made with a good acrylic enamel
can be in one, or two part types. The colors can

desire. Metallic paints are just a translucent paint
with metal flakes. One problem of metallic paints
