I've heard that new born babies can swim on the swimming pool seconds after giving birth to them. They also say that its same when they were still at the womb of their mother surrounded by the fluid ion it same with the swimming pool... If its true. Why?
Actually its true, not because of the pre birth environment though. Babies are born with a reflex that shuts off their windpipe when their faces go under water.....it wears off really quickly though, within a matter of weeks. Babies regularly breathe amniotic fluid (the fluid that fills the uterus when youre pregnant) if they breathed the water in a birthing pool they would drown or get pneumonia from impurities in the water. The trip down the birthing canal clears all the amniotic fluid from the baby's lungs and gets the baby ready to take their first breath.
