LCD Monitor Repair – Proven Success Tips for Repairing Defective LCD Monitors
Lately, I've been getting a great deal of LCD monitor repair gigs. I usually get a minimum of 5 faulty LCD monitors on my repair desk, per day. Needless to say, every day is crazy busy!
You know, I'm very glad that I took the time to learn how to repair LCD monitors last year. Yes, I only started fixing LCD monitors around middle of last year!
Before that, I repaired CRT monitors only. You know, CRTs can be fixed rather easily. Their circuitry designs are not as intricate as LCD monitors, thus they are so much simpler to fix.

Okay, here are some repair tips that you should take note of…
How to fix blank LCD display after the power is switched on.
One of the most common LCD monitor problems. Power is turned on and screen appears only momentarily! The causes are many… Try examining the joints located in the inverter board section. Dry joints can cause this problem to manifest.
Also, check out the power supply, specifically the secondary part. Keep your eyes peeled on the filter caps located in that part. Defective filter caps can cause this problem as well so replace accordingly.
LCD monitor with negative output in the secondary transformer yet has positive input from main transformer.
To solve this problem, first…you have to test every component located in the primary area. A fast electronic component testing skill comes in handy when you're doing LCD monitor repair!
Look, from my experience, this problem is usually caused by a shorted secondary output diode. Also, ensure that supply voltage goes to the power IC. If not, this problem will persist!

has anyone had problems with a sony bravia 32" lcd tv with a high pitched noise from the power supply?
i have a 32" sony bravia lcd tv and when it has been on a while a high pitched whistle/buzzing noise starts, has anyone any ideas?
That's a faulty capacitor if it is a whistling sound in the power supply. The unit should be replaced under warranty but probably won't cause any problems in the meantime.
