Need to repair twisted copper tube in kitchen faucet?
I was replacing our kitchen faucet with a new one. During the course of the installation, I accidentally twisted the copper tube (for the hot water) when I was tightening the connectors for the water tubes. After spending hours getting the old one off and installing the new one, I screwed up in the last step of the DIY! So now I have a brand new faucet with a twisted line. How can I salvage this repair? Can I solder a new tube in place of the old twisted one- I can get a newer faucet and finish the work but in the interest of educating myself, I am wondering if there a fix for this problem.
How close to the faucet base is the kink? You could try heating up the solder joint, but you risk burning any O'rings or plastic parts in the faucet. Knowing how to solder is a plus, it's easy to overheat and you might mess up the other solder joints.
