How to Fix a Loose Power Connector on a Toshiba Satellite
Toshiba Satellite laptops(toshiba satellite C650 battery) often have problems with their power connections becoming loose and losing contact between the positive pin on the DC power jack and the motherboard. Laptops are not designed to operate on the Tsohiba satellite L500 battery when the AC adapter is plugged into a viable power outlet. You will have to disassemble your Toshiba Satellite laptop to repair this problem. This task requires a thorough knowledge of laptop repair and safe soldering practices.
Disassemble your laptop according to the instructions for your specific Toshiba Satellite laptop model. Cut the plastic supports off the base assembly with a knife.
Cut off the plastic wall that encircles the mount opening with the knife. Extend the circumference of the hole by carving it open with the knife to make it wide enough for the new jack.
Bring the ends on the negative lead for the jack together and cover the ends with solder.
Remove the original DC power jack and trim the wires from the jack box with the knife, until they sit close to the edge of the jack box. Use the knife to strip the wires. Use your fingers to twist the wires together, and then coat the point where they meet with fresh solder. Locate the positive wire -- it is either red or green. Plug this wire into the positive lead on the new jack, and then find the negative black wire and attach it to the negative lead on the new jack. toshiba satellite a500 battery
Place the new power jack in the base, keeping enough extra space available for the plastic laptop cover and right speaker to fit back in later. Cover the negative and positive leads with the electrical tape, and then manually rotate the nut on the power jack clockwise until it will go no further.
Figure out which walls will stand in the way of the power jack after you secure the plastic laptop cover. Cut these walls out with the knife. Reverse the disassembling instructions you followed previously to put your laptop back together.

Can I use a plumbing torch and solder to solder electrical wire?
I need to solder a connector to my o2 sensor for my truck. Will the torch and solder work in place of a soldering iron?

A torch is a bit overkill , don't ya think.
