A Review Of The Samsung Genio Slide
The Genio Slide is Samsungs newest addition to it successful Genio range. The Genio slide is aimed at younger consumers. It has a full 2.8 inch touch screen in addition to a QWERTY keyboard which slides out and is used horizontally, giving the user the best of both worlds.
It has a 3 mega-pixel digital camera which comes complete with geotagging, autofocus and smile detection. This is a neat feature which automatically detects a smile in a photo and will focus on that subject rather than something not as relevant to the picture. The Genio also includes a microSD card slot which supports up to a 16GB card, a FM Radio and video capture at up to 30 frames per second. The phone comes complete with social networking facilities allowing access to such sites as Facebook. Myspace and Twitter. One of the features which immediately attracted me to the phone is its built in access to BBC's iPlayer. The BBC iPlayer is an on-demand radio and television service allowing you to catch up on programming that you have missed. This shows how the Genio Slide is pitched as an entertainment phone rather than a high powered smart phone.
The Genio slide is Wi-Fi enabled for those who want quick and efficient and has built in GPS. It includes a great web browser and you can easily zoom in and out on the web page using the tap to zoom function. This smartphone supports email, mms, sms and instant messaging. IM allows the user to have a text conversation with contacts that are online at the same time as them. With it's interchangeable back and front covers it will appeal to the younger audience. The Samsung Genio Slide is a black device measuring 105mm tall, 56.8mm wide and 15.7mm deep and weighs 135 grams which is the same weight as the Apple iPhone. The Genio Slide screen features a QVGA TFT touch screen measuring 2.8 inches and has 240 x 320 pixel resolution. The accelerometer sensor allows you to easily switch between landscape and portrait mode. The handset has an internal memory of 120MB, voice dial, voice memo, bluetooth and a microUSB port. Thanks to the EDGE technology, users can transfer data to another device using either the USB port or Bluetooth. This can be done quickly and efficiently. It supports 3.5G technology ultimately resulting on faster download times for the phone.
Like many of Samsungs previous models the Genio Slide is going to naturally appeal to the younger smartphone audience. This is due to it's stylish design and ease of use. Social networking capabilities also add to it's appeal. However, the Genio has enough technology behind the scenes to also appeal to a wider spectrum of consumers.

as long as your sim card is a TMO sim card, you'll be just fine.
