Wear what you like – design or have your T-shirts designed the way you like them!

With the start of the new century, designing custom T-shirts on line became popular, with websites using digital printing such as Direct to Garment or DTG printing). Customers were thus able to design their own T-shirts, and the process of doing so has been considerably refined by manufacturers such as T-Jet. There is a variety of ways now in which customers can have custom T-shirts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-shirt)

There is also a large variety of outlets and vendors that cater to demand for custom T-shirts. One example is that of Streetshirts, that enable you customize t-shirts, hoodies, and even other clothing items. Another facility is SonicShack, through which ‘a member you can design products, save them, sell them in our shop and of course purchase them as well. You can also use our plug-ins to put the Sonic designer on your site or feature your shirts on your own website or webpage. So sign up, SonicShack welcomes everyone.' NewWorld Digital Arts is another interesting website that provides information on their services regarding Custom T-shirts. They claim to have designed and produced thousands of these, using commercial grade transfers and heavy duty Hix heat pressures. The art work is provided by the client themselves, whereas the price of the custom T-shirts can be as low as $15. There is a large variety in style, with white colored T-shirts being the most popular. Additionally, if the art work is not provided by a client, NewWorld Digital Arts will do slide scanning, film scanning, or print scanning, as well as any alterations to a design that are deemed necessary. 9 (http://filmscanningservices.com/faqs/#16)

An interesting, low cost method of creating a custom T-shirt is through using a digitally designed stencil. The benefits of employing this method of custom T-shirt production include low cost, quick output, and ‘the low-tech feel to the finished product could help reinforce an urban or distressed brand, especially with a little extra overspray.' http://www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/tutorials/create-a-custom-t-shirt-stencil-design

To create a stencil designed custom T-shirt, you will need T-shirts, a sharp scalpel, a spray mount, and spray paint. ‘Remember when creating your stencil to plan ahead and think about what areas will be cut out, some areas may need splitting to allow the areas of negative space to connect. If not these areas would simply fall out when the stencil is cut out.' (http://www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/tutorials/create-a-custom-t-shirt-stencil-design)

After creating your draft design with a chosen application (e.g. GoMedia), you can print it out onto a card at your desired sized. Place a board then, inside your T-shirt, behind the chest area, fold the material onto the reverse, and stick it into a position with a tape.  Cut out the stencil with the help of the scalpel then, and give the rear a coat of spray mount in order that the stencil sticks down to the T-shirt. Next, place the stencil over the T-shirt in an appropriate position. Use the spray paint then, building layers of paint onto the stencil. Once the paint has dried, peel away the stencil and tape to bare your design transferred onto you custom T-shirt.

If I put in a mono jack (TS) in this circuit that requires a stereo jack for the input, will it still work?

http://fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/rangemaster.php ------------------------> The schematic

If I were to use a tip-sleeve male portion (mono jack) and plug it into the tip-ring-sleeve (for stereo jack) female portion, will the circuit still work? The positive terminal of the battery will then connect to the ring portion of the female part, to the sleeve portion of the mono jack and to the ground and it becomes like this circuit (http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/DallasRM2.jpg), which I cannot verify whether it will work or not. Most of the schematics of effect pedals I see have a TRS female input although most guitar cables are TS male only. Why is that so?
Sorry the other website which I can't verify if it will work or not is http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/DallasRM2.jpg

They use TRS jacks as an ersatz power switch. The one battery terminal connects to the ring terminal of the input jack. A typical TS instrument plug has ground sleeve where the ring on a TRS plug is. Inserting the TS instrument plug "shorts" the R terminal to the S terminal, therfore colosing the battery supply to the circuit, and removing the intstrument plug opens the circuit.

You can use a regular TS jack for input, but need to have a separate power switch, unless you will be powering it from an external adapter.
