What type of saw blade do I use to cut steel (1/4" x 1-1/4)? What TPI is best?
I went to OSH and picked up a weldable flat bar of steel 1/4" x 1-1/4 x 3'. I would like to cut it to smaller sizes. I've noticed several different types of hack saws and different blades. What is the best one to get the job done? thanks
If you have a lot to cut, 1/4" is pretty thick. You may wish to consider using an abrasive blade in a circular saw. The blades are around $3, and will save you a lot of effort.
