Resistance Meter

Doing a Slip Test with a good Slip Meter periodically can be a good indicator of the slip resistance of your floors
There are estimated to be 8 million slip-fall accidents per year, of which over 540,000 require hospital care. Slip-fall accidents account for over 20,000 fatalities per year, making slip-falls, the second leading cause of accidental death after automobile accidents. 40% of all paid workers' compensation claims are slip-fall related. This translates to 104 million lost workdays per year.
Having a good quality slip meter at your disposal and using it can be helpful in making the workplace safer. The Americans with Disabilities Act, the guideline for floor safety, states that a horizontal surface is considered safe, if the SCOF is 0.6 or higher. If there is a slip-fall accident and the floor is tested and the result is less than 0.6, it is possible that those responsible for the maintenance of the floor, could be held negligent.
A good program of floor maintenance would look something like the following. First the floor would be tested to determine the level of slip resistance. This information along with the date should be documented. Then it would be thoroughly cleaned with a good degreaser or floor cleaner. Next it would be treated by a company that treats floors to make them slip resistant or the business owner could purchase chemicals and treat the floor himself. Next the floor would be remeasured and the results documented.
The floor would be maintained with a good cleaner or degreaser and retested every month or so to make sure that the level of slip resistance is still good. In the case of a restaurant where there is a great deal of grease used in cooking, for example, this will need to be done more often and retreated if necessary. The results would be documented.
In case there is a slip and fall accident in the workplace this method might help protect your business in a lawsuit.
Slip meters now give digital measurements. This makes measuring even easier. A good slip meter can be purchased for around $850.00. Not a bad investment if it can reduce insurance rates due to lower slip and fall claims, or save injury to one of your best employees.

assuming the meter's resistance is much smaller than the resistor, which way along the path that most of the current will take through the circuit? are we accurately measuring the current through the resistor?
the diagram is a current meter in parallel with a resistor.
Without a circuit diagram or a much better description this question is not answerable.
EDIT:
If they are in parallel and "meter's resistance is much smaller than the resistor", then MOST of the current flows through the meter , (draw the arrow thrugh the meter).
The measurement is NOT an accurate measurement of the current flowing through the resistor.
