Lake Worth used car drivers witness new focus on safety from Toyota
Toyota continues to live up to its promise to "make things right" with its customers. Now the company is spotlighting its new Star Safety System, combining five safety technologies into a standard equipment package on all new Toyota models. This will be part of a nationwide campaign to further boost Toyota's image. Lake Worth used car dealers are expecting a lot of positive customer feedback about this implementation.
The advertising campaign will include engineers and Toyota owners discussing quality and safety through T.V., digital media, print, radio and outdoor advertising. The new Star Safety System encompasses Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Anti-lock Brake System and Brake Assist. Your Lake Worth car dealer is excited about this move. Toyota is leading the way in the innovative technology as the first automaker to combine all these safety features into a package and make it standard on all vehicles. Bob Carter, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager, said, "Toyota customers tell us they want to know more about the Toyota safety story, and the Star Safety System is just one of the features that reassure them about the safety and quality of out vehicles."
Here's a run-down of the specifics included in this Star Safety System package: *Traction Control (TRAC) assist in keeping traction on wet, icy, uneven or loose dirt/gravel surfaces by adding brake force to any wheels which are spinning. TRAC sensors are activated when one or more wheel begins to slip. The system also limits engine out put and transfers power to wheels that still have traction. Pretty smart!
*Vehicle Stability Control (VCS) helps prevent wheel slippage and traction loss through reduction of engine power and use of brake force to specific wheels. VSC tracks the steering angle and travel direction and senses if the rear or front wheels slip. Once the slip is detected the system pulls back engine power, applies brakes where needed and helps correct the path of the vehicle.
*Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) works with the anti-lock brake system to help keep the vehicle stable and balanced when the brakes are applied. When the driver must stop suddenly, EBD responds with a redistribution of brake force to keep the vehicle from tilting forward as much. It also distributed the brake force evenly to prevent brake lock-up. EBD has sensors to recognize a heavy load of cargo and adjusts brake pressure on the rear wheels according to the extra weight on the rear axle. Customers of the Lake Worth car dealer will have to be impressed with this feature.
*Anti-lock Brake Systems are not new, but now they are used in conjunction with several other safety technologies to be even more effective. The ABS "pulses" the brake to prevent lock-up and prevent skidding. The pulsing allows the wheels to keep rotating as the vehicle slows to avoid a skid. *Brake Assist is a system to detect sudden braking, as in an emergency situation, and add the full pressure of the brakes to help prevent an accident. If more pressure is needed than what is being applied by the driver, the sensor will kick in and provide the additional pressure needed to help prevent a collision.
In an extra measure, Toyota also is adding brake-override to all its models by the end of this year. Many of Toyota's models already include this as standard equipment. It helps reduce engine power when the brake pedal and accelerator are applied together under certain driving conditions. Lake Worth used car dealers will be sure to alert their customers to all the wonderful safety systems Toyota provides.
