I currently own an Ibanez GSR200.. and its not bad at all. But I've lately been listening to some Sick Puppies.. and I'm totally in love with Emma Anzai (and her Warwick Basses). Neither of which I can afford. I absolutely love the sound her basses have. But I'm 15 and am short on cash. I don't expect to buy a bass any time very soon, but I would still greatly appreciate you all's (especially pro players and experienced folks) opinion. I know I can't get the growl and sparkle of a 3500 dollar streamer stage 1 or a jazzman with the money i have, but is there anything close? I play a variety of music. Like I said, I like playing slap/pop stuff (emma anzai), I like playing rock, alternative, progressive (muse).. I also play in a jazz band. So I definately need flexibility and variety in tone (active pickups and electronics..).
SOO.. given all of that.. what do you think is my best bet for the 300-600 dollar range? (maybe a tiny bit more idk..)

Hmmm... Maybe something used, but that's all about being at the right place at the right time with the right instrument.
On a limited budget, maybe a better alternative would be to "upgrade" your existing bass. Take it to a reputable guitar tech, tell him what you're looking for, and let him set it up for you. Better pickups, better electronics, and better hardware can make a world of difference!!!
PS: It'll cost far less than $600 AND you'll get a far better bang for your buck... Good luck, hope this helps!!!
