What kind of power splitter is this? I need a replacement but cannot find it.?

What the heck is this part called? power splitter? Converter?
Long story short: I am renting from this condo owner who has a UK washer and dryer [the brand is Creda]. Because it is from the UK, I connects to this weird power converter/splitter. The splitter is busted [the switch pops off so for now I have a piece of GUM to hold it in place]. I need to know where I could get such a power splitter so I can replace it. PLEASE HELP,I have a lot of dirty laundry sitting at home!!

Judging from the pictures it looks like they built the following: The big grey cable plug has around a 50Amp 240VAC rating and it fits into the 50A 240VAC socket. The other end has been terminated in the dual 240V outlet box so that you can install two 240V devices into it and be able to switch them on and off individually. They made these circuits extra heavy to protect you in case you were to use say a washer and a dryer together. Both of these 2 units draw a lot of power. Are both of the outlets dead on the box with two outlets? If both are dead you should confirm that power is getting to the 50A outlet. Maybe a breaker has tripped in the main panel. However if the lower outlet of the double box is good maybe all you need to do is replace the switch. I don't think you need to replace the whole box as very little could go wrong with such a simple device. Be careful to remove power before opening.
