My Electrical Plug is Upside Down - How Do I Fix It?

As an experienced contractor and home inspector, I asked the homeowner, what he did for a living and he said that he was an electrician at a nuclear power plant.

This relieved me a little bit, as I continued to inspect the home for other problems with the electrical system. I wasn't too concerned, because I was going to replace the entire home electrical system anyway, but I still wanted to know, why were these electrical outlets installed upside down.

I asked the realtor the other day and she said that she would contact him, as a courtesy for me. I thanked her and am still waiting for her reply. I realize that I might not ever know, why someone installs electrical outlets upside down.

If there are any experienced electricians for homeowners who prefer to have their electrical outlets installed upside down, I would love to know what the reason is for doing this. It doesn't seem to make that much sense to me.

If I was going to install an extension cord, I have to change, what I am currently used to and reverse my installation process for installing electrical outlet cords.

If you're electrical outlets are installed upside down, they are easy to fix. Make sure that the electricity is turned off, first, then. Simply unscrew the cover and remove the two screws that are located at the bottom and top of the electrical outlet.

Then you can simply rotate the electrical outlet plug and reinstall it in the correct position. Simple, but make sure that the electricity is turned off and be careful rotating the electrical outlet around. Try not to twist the wires and make sure that they don't unattach from the electrical outlet or any of the wired nuts inside of the electrical box.

Always be careful when working around electricity.

Which nut to turn to adjust for a leaner fuel mixture on a 600 4160 holley carb?

i am fairly certain its the 600cfm version of the 4160. Are both the nuts adjusting nuts for tuning the fuel mixture or just one and which one? I think its running too rich because it smells like gas, and fouled plugs, and backfiring out the intake. In a pinch, I had replaced 2 plugs with bosch platinums and they didn't even last a week. Am now running hot E3 iridiums since yesterday.

Well for starters the adjustments for the mixture aren't nuts, they're screws located beneath the float bowl.Look and you'll see 2 screws with slots in them for a screwdriver. Before you bother with them though i'll tell you right now if it has backfired through the intake it will have blown out the power valve. It will never run right til you replace the power valve. To get to that you need to remove the float bowl and the metering plate. And before you bother to replace the power valve you need to find out why it backfired though the intake in the first place. As a guess i would say your timing is wrong.Correct that first because if not every time it backfires it will blow out another power valve. Those get expensive real fast. Also when you remove the float bowl make sure you use new gaskets(there are 2 of them).
Edit i forgot to mention, make sure the firing order on the plug wires is correct. It that's wrong the engine will backfire through the carb for sure.
