Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Templates and Instructional Algorithms in ITS
ITS is programmed in Visual Basic and executed using Microsoft's IIS (Internet Information System). The system contains three tiers— database, client, and business logic—and traces realities about PLC instructions in a database in the form {instruction, attribute, value}. So such as, the reality that the CTU (Counter Up) instruction calculates up by one from the accumulated value (AC) each time it calculates would be saved in the database as {CTU, counts, up by one from AC every time it counts}.
Templates and instructional algorithms are used to show information from the reality table and to plan practice questions and feedback. Student understanding is modeled by stain personality of realities as identified or unidentified depend on practice query performance. Additionally, a split table is used to proof misconceptions demonstrated during the practice sessions. The table of misconception has the similar structure as the actuality table, but includes a student's misconceptions rather than realities. Therefore, for instance, if a student is asked how the CTU instruction calculates and wrongly replies that it counts down by one, the misconception is added to the misconception table. The misconception table is element of the student model and is used by the system in formative what to ask during perform. A misconception is eliminated if a student has the occasion to show it again but fails to do so.
Queries are created by applying instructional templates and algorithms to the information in the database. Topics are chosen depend on the information in the student model. The system can inquire three types of queries:
• Specified a characteristic and an instruction, choose the value of applicable, e.g., What does CTU stand for?
• Specified a value and a characteristic, choose the applicable instruction(s), e.g., The instruction that stands for counter up is…
• True-false queries, CTU calls for Counter Up.
There may be more than one right answer. ROM...Some programs are so important they are stored in other forms like CD's and offline down-loadable Hd's ..The ability to erase or should I say operator erase the program is less if stored in a Hard-chip form...Versus a multi-operational RAM application where operational items are performed and not actually held for and length of time...
