London â€" Many farmers are now generating power from the biomass produced on their farms to heat buildings and power machinery and even export it to the grid. However, these systems must run reliably for years if they are to repay their initial investment and provide a stable power supply to the end-users.
These requirements have led to the use of fieldbus technology to help farmers extract biogas from slurry to fuel cogeneration plants. The technology supports reliable automation and control network systems that are also easy to operate.
Biogas-fuelled power plants turn liquid manure, plant waste and special fuel crops into energy. The main component is a heat and power cogeneration unit that generates power and heat from biogas, which is the primary output of the biomass fermentation unit.
German company Dreyer & Bosse supplies autonomous cogeneration units that use CC-Link open fieldbus network technology for data communications and safety and monitoring functions. Based in Gorleben, Lower Saxony, it employs nearly 100 people who have installed 5000 anaerobic digesters around the country. The total output is over 1800MW, enough to power 4,000,000 households.
CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the central data processor and controller of the entire work system PLC. Process conducted by the CPU and other international control of all operations, cultivate existing programs in the memory, as well as manage communications between the input-output, memory and the CPU through the BUS system. CPU also serves to execute and process the functions desired by the program that have been determined.

this is what happening. i have a control system where the cpu is telemechanique modicon M340.
when starting an equipment or a group there is delay on starting at times.actually you can see the count down timer on the scada system stopping at times.i thought it was the cpu but after changing with a new one, the problem has resurfaced after around one month.
The only way to find out is by following the programming sequence. There can be different process switches and timer interlocks that need to execute before the sequence can move forward.
One faulty field switch or incomplete process, for example a valve that is not fully open, or closed, can stop the sequence.
The cpu should tell you at what point the sequence stops. Then, check the address and identify the hardware that controls it.
If it is a large program, it can be pretty cumbersome to identify the element in question.
