How to Check the Batteries in Nokia Cell Phones
Checking your Nokia's battery is easily done, whether you want to confirm its authenticity or simply make sure it's holding an adequate charge or needs to be replaced. No special tools are required for the former, but for the latter, you'll need a device capable of measuring an electric current--a multimeter or simple voltmeter.
This article's instruction can be ues to bl-5c battery and nokia 6230 battery ,besides, nokia 6010 battery is ok ,too.
Instructions
Things You'll Need
- Voltmeter or multimeter
-
- 1
Turn off your phone.
- 2
Slide the rear panel off the phone. Exactly how this is done depends on the phone's model, and your manual will cover it, but it should be apparent simply from examining the phone--look for a lock to depress as you slide out the panel.
- 3
Remove the phone's battery. Again, this varies from phone to phone and is covered in the manual, but it tends to be a little trickier than getting the back panel off--look for a place to get a fingernail into the battery's recess to pry it out. Once you've gotten a grip, pry on it gently; don't force anything.
- 4
Check your battery's authenticity by tilting it to examine the Nokia hologram printed on the side. As you tilt it, you should be able to see small dots on each side of the Nokia logo: four on the top, two on the right, three on the bottom and one on the left.
- 5
Set a multimeter to read DC volts at a range of 20 to check your battery's charge. If your multimeter is autoranging, you don't have to worry about the number; just set it to DC.
- 6
Locate the small terminals on one side of your battery. There will be at least two and positive/negative labels will appear printed just above or below them.
- 7
Touch the multimeter's red probe to the positive terminal and its black probe to the negative terminal.
- 8
Check the reading on the multimeter. Most cell phone batteries are 3.7 volts, so a number around this will probably indicate a full, healthy charge--but check the information printed on your battery for an exact number.
