What is a way to demonstrate the internal resistance of a multimeter?

Assuming that you mean the internal resistance of the Volt meter circuit of the multimeter. Connect a sensitive Amp meter in series with a single load resistor that has a high resistance value across across a dc Voltage source. Observe an increase in the Amp meter reading when a Voltage reading is taken by the multimeter across the load resistor.. The increase in current is caused by placing the internal resistance of the multimeter in parallel with the load resistor. This demonstrates the existence of a finite resistance internal to the multimeter with the multimeter`s function switch set on a dc Voltage range. The lower the internal resistance of the multimeter the greater the increase in current will be when the multimeter is placed in parallel with the load resistor.

To calculate the exact amount of the multimeter`s internal resistance it would also be necessary to take into consideration the effects of the internal resistance of the dc Voltage source on the change in current when the multimeter is connected across the load resistor.
