how to measure over-all power consumption in my house using multimeter?
is this possible using analogue multimeter? it's because i have this energy-saving device and i would like to know if it works or my power consumption actually drops down.
pls advice waht to do.. i don't have a clamp meter.

You can't. It's not possible.

Doesn't matter. Even if you could safely access the hot or neutral line, a clamp meter only measures amperage. Because of "power factor", you can't use that to calculate power with most AC loads.
Doesn't your power company have a watt meter attached to your house. If not, how do they know how much to charge you for electric usage?

If you gave the details of the device and what it's attached to, someone might be able to give you a useful answer.
If whatever it's attached to just plugs into a wall outlet, you can buy a watt meter to measure it.
