how to use multimeter to test if laptop ac charger is working?
Hi all.
I have a laptop which is not turning on, or is there a light on to indicate it is charging. How can i test if there is power running through the ac charger with a multimeter, i want to find out if it is the ac charger is broken or the laptop.
I have never used a multimeter before. It is a digital multimeter.

The output of AC charger is DC so switch the multi to DC voltage. Next there,re two point in the charger output one is (+) and one is (-). connect the (+) to red probe and (-) to black probe.
To determine which point is (+) and which is (-) you can see in the charger body or in the laptop charger input, usually the inside is (+) and the body is (-). If the output indicate 0V measurement means your charger defect. Charger usually can't be repair need to buy new one.
