5 Tips to Recording Success
Things that will enhance your recording experience include a quiet atmosphere, lots of preparation, quality gear, a good reverb and plain perseverance. Whether you've had a lot of experience recording for a lifetime or are just a beginner, these tips can prove useful to all.
1. The atmosphere of the room should be quiet and comfortable. The temperature of the room should be set to a comfortable level. A quiet room can contribute to a quality sound recording. This requires a serene and peaceful space for working on the chosen project. Along with the vibe, what you're wearing should be taken into account. Loose fitting clothing that breathes would be best for optimum and favorable working conditions. When wearing comfortable clothing, the body tends to relax and be more productive in the musical process. Finding a good studio to record is a must. If you are a band, you will want to find a central location where you can all meet up together without having to drive too far of a distance. Carrying a ton of instruments and amps around can be a hassle. It's a good idea to compare facilities and find out where you can get the best pocket-book friendly place, yet maintain the quality you are trying to find. Your best bet is to ask around. Find people who have already done recordings in the industry and ask them where they recorded their project. Ask them about their experience and how satisfied they were.
2. Being prepared can result in success or failure in your recording. Preparing and planning along with expertise are ways to show your work with polish. Knowing the music that you're recording as well as being familiar with the gear involved, will make the entire process smoother. Keeping a journal so that you can write down ideas and notes on ways you want to perform material as well as last minute things to incorporate will be helpful when you set out to record. Ensure you have adequate amount of water to refresh yourself while you're in the session, and that all of your material to be recorded is in order so you won't be fumbling for notes you might have. Discipline and practice are key and can pay off in the end.
3. Quality equipment is necessary especially microphones. Decide what your budget is for your project and buy the best equipment for the dollar. Depending on the recording project, you will need at least one microphone. This will be used to record vocals and instruments. Decide on the recorders of your choice. You can make an excellent recording using many options. Have a set of close field monitors and reference headphones which will allow you to get the best mix that will work for your situation. A softer sound usually comes from using analog recordings and many people prefer that. A good set of headphones is essential. Don't use headphones made for consumer listening. Use headphones that have a flat response pattern and good ambient noise rejection. A panel (patch panel) for the audio can be very useful. During a recording session it is very frustrating to get all of your cables tangled. If you run into problems this can make the trouble shooting process easier to solve.
4. Outboard, used for coloring the sound, is very important in any effort of this kind. This is the ability for the sound to rebound. Sound reverberates and causes a series of echoes. This enhances the quality of the material being recorded. Color and depth are the result of using reverb. Reverb actually will take the musician to another place in his music and give much more versatility to the material being recorded. Don't go crazy over EQ, referred to as equalization. If you don't like the way it sounds, change things. Move some of the musical equipment around to another location. Adjustments will improve the sound of the project being recorded. Study and observe other examples of reverb techniques of musician and engineer interviews and how they used it in their recordings.
5. Patience is the last of the 5 tips for sound recording. You have gathered all of the things you need for a successful recording. Being impetuous or working too fast, even though the meter is running, will work against you. Problems and delays are to be expected while working out the difficulties you may face. Strive for patience and keep a good attitude. Put the tips to use and you should be able to make a recording that you will be very pleased with.
In conclusion, following these 5 tips for sound recording should lead to your recording success. Atmosphere, reverb, preparation, quality equipment, and patience can all pay off in the end. The truly great musicians understand that great music is developed over time with much hard work and effort.

Microphone problem on my laptop. Says "Currently Unaviable" in Control PanelAudio Devices?
Windows Vista 64bit.
Default built in mic doesn't work. Happened after i reinstalled Operation System. Some one please help me out.
Thanks.
You need to reinstall your audio device driver.
When you wipe out your operating system, it included the audio driver, so you got to install it again. If you have the driver"s CD, insert it and reinstall
it. No CD, go to the manufacturer's website and download your audio driver from there.
After reinstalling the audio driver, your mic will be back.
