What proportion of the population is less than 17?
A normal population has a mean of 19 and a standard deviation of 5 what proportion of the population is less than 17?

2. If the mean is 19 and the standard deviation is 5, then 17 is (19-17)/5 or 0.4 standard deviations below the mean.
