A question based on series LCR circuit?

An LCR series circuit with a resistance of 50 ohm is connected to AC source of 220V and angular frequency 300 rad/s.When the capacitance alone is removed, the voltage leads the current by 50 degrees & when the inductance alone is removed,the voltage lags behind the current by 50 degrees.Calculate 1)Current 2)power factor 3)the power dissipated in the LCR circuit

since th ephase sift was sysmetric, circuit is in resonance (when LCR).
in that case I=220/50=4.4A, pf=1.00, P=220*4.4=968W.

when one of the LC components is removed, we get 50deg phase shift.
this means that magnitude of the XL or Xc is

|X| = R*tan(50) = 60 Ohm

in that case pf=cos(50)=0.643

and current is smaller because Z=R+iXL or Z=R-iXc
