Will a timer work for an outdoor electric infrared or halogen space heater?
I want to provide heat at night for a small tree this winter. Easiest is for me to get a small outdoor electric heater and place it on a timer so it only comes on for a few hours each night. But some things like TV's and fluorescent lights wont go on with a timer. Is that the same way for these small electric heaters?
The heaters I looked at are around 1200 watts, made for outdoor use. But if attached to a timer, will the heater go on? On a tv, once the tv is off, the timer wont turn it back on.

i/ hot water bottle,[if only require warmth ]
ii/ para flood globe light [ if light and slight warmth is required ]
iii/ A 500watt flood light [ if light and heat is needed ]
even a hair dryer, can be used,if heat is needed to act as a thermal conditioner [ for a higher range level ]
i usually use coals out of the fire/ layered just below ground level in a trench around the tree area. keeping in mind [ drying the ground within its surrounding surface ] It acts as a mini eco glasshouse.....
