Hearing Protection in High Noise Environment Using Next Generation Ear Plugs

Can you get a plug to reduce 240v to 110v for outside lighting?
I've been given a set of garden lights. The cable is yellow (110v) with 12 bulb holders. I intend to use 60w bulbs. There is at present no plug attached. I know of industrial transformers used for power tools but these are heavy and expensive. Is there a smaller plug-in type transformer that would do the job?
A friend suggested using a standard 240v plug and 240v bulbs but i don't like the idea because its only twin cable (no earth).
12*60W = 720 W
I = P/V = 720/110 = 7 Amps
You need a transformer that provides 110V and at least 7 Amps or it is rated for about 1000 Watts.
