Fuse Replacement In A Plug
Every household has its different electrical appliances. Kitchen appliances, home entertainment system and many other electrical items provide comfort to people. These devices not only help people in making their day to day works easy but as well as these products produces more outputs that are precisely and properly done. Because of these devices role to people's daily routines, it is just right that people should take good care of them. All electrical devices and appliances should be properly maintained and regularly inspected to continually use them at the same time ensuring the safety of the people using them.
Whenever one of your electrical appliances has stopped working, the first step that you normally do is to check if whether the fuse has blown in the plug. Following precautionary measures, you should unplug the item and then carefully unscrew the back of the plug using a screwdriver. Once you open it, you will notice that there are three different colored wires coming into the plug and the fuse.
In fuse replacement, you have to undo the screw while holding the fuse and take it out and replace it with a new fuse. You have to make sure that the new one is similar type of fuse that was blown. In doing fuse replacement, you should never replace the blown fuse with larger fuse in order to prevent the fuse from blowing. This is because this will lead to potentially serious defect with the item concerned. In modern houses with installed modern molded plugs which cannot be taken aside from the fuse, a plastic holder can be accessed from the pin side of the plug and levered out with a small screwdriver.
If you have already replaced the blown fuse with a new one and the new fuse keeps blowing off every time the appliance is switched on, it is possible that the appliance has a serious defect. If this case happens, find for a competent and licensed electrician to take a look at the appliance and have him do the necessary step to settle your electrical issues.
You can check if the fuse has blown by using an electronic measuring device called multimeter and set it on resistance. Setting the measuring device to read ohms, an approximate range of up to 2000 ohm and put the leads on either end of the fuse, you should get a reading of zero. If the device reads one, it means that the fuse has failed and needs to be replaced.

Little screw is missing for my fuse holder under my hood for my amp.?
Ok so i lost a screw that holds the fuse in the fuse holder. Its a kicker fuse holder that is under the hood that holds 150a fuses i tried advance and lowes to see if i can get the screw but neither had them where can i get a replacemtn? Or do i have to buy another fuse holder?
You can always buy another fuse holder, it'll run $15-$20. It is cheap enough, that it may be worth it to avoid the hassle of finding the right screw, which may still cost a couple bucks!
