The Precision M6500 with up to 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and 1 TB of disk space to be configured. The top model uses an Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M graphics type. Prices start at € 1784 plus shipping.
With the Dell Precision M6500 offers from once a mobile workstation that is designed specifically for compute-intensive applications in the fields of CAD, 3D animation, engineering, science and research. The prices for the 17-inch notebook with an aluminum chassis start at 1784 € 41.65 plus shipping dell inspiron 1525 battery.
Dell Precision M6500 provides the one with up to 2 GHz Intel quad-core processor, the Core i7 series, up to 16 GB dual-channel DDR3 RAM and hard drive capacities of up to 1 TB in RAID. Optional two Solid State Drives with up to 256 GByte storage space is available - on request also encrypted.
If the video card, customers have the choice between AMD's ATI FirePro M7740 and the Nvidia Quadro FX 2800M solutions and dedicated FX 3800M with 1 GB of memory thinkpad t60 battery. The 17-inch display with LED backlight depending on the model has a 16:10 resolution of 1440 x 900 (WXGA +) or 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA).
In addition, the new workstation including 802.11a/g/n WLAN (), Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, eSATA, an Express Card slot, an 8-in-1 card reader, four USB ports, the VGA - and DisplayPort output and a DVD or Blu-ray drive. What if we give the CPU priority over the DMA on accessing the bus?
Both the DMA module and the processor access the system bus to transfer data to and from the memory. Typically, the DMA module is given priority in accessing the bus, i.e. it can "steal" a bus cycle from the processor. What would be the advantage and the disadvantage of reversing this, i.e. giving the processor priority over the DMA module when accessing the system bus?
DMA gives a device direct access to the memory.
If you give the processor priority over DMA then you are putting the devices that use it "back in line" to go through the processor to access memory.
Since that is the normal procedure, I see no benefit in doing so. Essentially you should get the same effect by just removing DMA completely.
It would also greatly increase the load on the processor.
