rg6 coax cable How do I put a crimp on connector on rg6 coax cable?
the best type of connector to use would be a compression f-connector, not a crimp type... also you can always get the screw on kind they are proballay the easiest to install...
first strip the outer sheathing of the rg6
fold the braided wire back leave the foil
then strip the inner core
place the f-connector onto the end of the cable, so that the inner core is completely upto the inner hole of the connector
if placed properly there should be a slight amount of the solid copper wire sticking out past the connector.
with your crimp tool (if you are going to use crimp on connectors) crimp the connector at the base so that it makes a solid connection with the braided wire you folded back.
they sell a stripper for rg6 that will make the strips perfect, it is eaiser to use then the stripper on the crimp tool, as you dont need to estimate how much to strip off the ends..
