how long should this bruise on my finger last?

a few days ago I was clipping my nails and accidentally cut a bit deep, it left a small piece the irritated me so I got a tweezer and pulled it, I kept pulling until I hit the end of the nail and just sucked up the pain and pulled it. I looked at my middle finger ( the nail I did this to) and it looked like how it did when I did something similar so i just left ti. Days later I see it bruising and the pain that should have went away, didn't. the very small open area is healing I think because it has the small redish crust like thing that forms when wounds heal. Thing is that my finger is still bruised. I'm finding discomfort from the bruise and not the opened area. Should I let the bruise go away on its own or should I relieve the pressure?

let the bruise do its job,you would just irritate it more and cause more bruising.
