Why do they film people off-center in testimonial commercials?

Whenever they have like a "regular guy" talking about something that a product did for him, thay ALWAYS film it in one unbroken take and they are always off-center.

In a "testimonial-style" commercial, they always have some people talking about how great Wal_mart, or Cialis, or anything is, but they always film them OFF-CENTER

There could be a couple of reasons:

1) In photography, there is something called the rule of thirds. If you divide the camera frame into three parts, objects or people placed on the third lines will have a stronger visual impact. Objects at the meeting point of a horizontal and vertical third line have the strongest impact. You may find the faces of the people in the upper right or upper left focus point.

2) To give the impression that it is a candid interview, not a staged, scripted event. If you look at most candid interviews with celebrities or people on news programs like 60 Minutes, the subject is usually off-center.
