How To Change The Wifi Card On A Hp Pavilion Dv6000
The HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop computers includes a Mini-PCI WiFi card that allows you to connect to a network through a wireless router or access point. A dead WiFi card doesn't mean you need to take a trip to the local electronics store and buy a new laptop. The WiFi card is in a location that is simple to access and can be replaced without much effort.
Save any programs you have open and then shut down the HP Pavilion DV6000's operating system. Power off the laptop and remove the the power cable. Unplug all of the cables and devices connected to the laptop's ports.
Close the HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop's display lid and turn the unit upside down. Push the battery release button to the left and pull the battery out of the DV5 series laptop.PCI Wireless LAN Card(Wireless PCI LAN Cards)
Locate the mini-PCI cover at the lower-right corner of the laptop case. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the single screw locking the mini-PCI cover to the Pavilion's case.
Pull the cover off the HP Pavilion DV6000 to expose the WiFi card. Disconnect the cables connected to the WiFi card. If you have trouble removing the cables with your fingers, you can instead twist them gently off with a pair of needle-nose pliers.
Pull back the two plastic retaining arms on either side of the WiFi card. Lift the card out of the HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop.
Set the replacement WiFi card into the Mini-PCI port. Set the plastic arms back into place and connect the two cables.USB WIRELESS LAN Adapter(WIRELESS USB LAN Adapter)
Put the mini-PCI cover back on the case. Insert the screw into the cover and tighten it with the screwdriver.
Insert the battery back into the HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop's battery bay. Plug in the power cable, flip the laptop over and open the HP Pavilion DV6000 display lid. Turn on the HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop.

Sending Sky to another room without co-axial cable or wifi?
The walls of our house are too thick for wireless connection of my sky-box to another room. I also do not want to have to install co-axial cable. Home Plug provides a system that enables computers to be net-worked through the electrical wiring. is there a similar system available to network the TV?
No. The loss through the cable would produce a fuzzy picture. I suggest using the existing conduit to wire repeaters round your house but not through the existing cable.
