Is The Seiko Orange Monster Watch Good?

The Seiko orange monster watch will certainly draw the eye with it's incredibly bright orange dial. Apparently, researchers found that the color orange was the easiest to read in bad viewing conditions, eg. Murky water. They were right! This watch is incredibly easy to read in any conditions and is one of the reasons it's become so popular.
The watch actually has generated a bit of a cult following, many admiring it for it's totally in your face looks. But other than its obvious aesthetic flare, what has this watch got going for it?

So there's the meat of the watch, but is it the right one for you? This watch would be great for anyone that has trouble distinguishing the time in low light areas. I wouldn't recommend this watch for anyone looking for a subtle and classy watch. In my opinion the bright orange is a bit too much, but I'm obviously not one of the Seiko Orange Monster cultists!
On the positive side, the materials are all of high quality. However the dial is not as scratch resistant at other competitors, which depending on what you do with your watch is either a big deal or not. Also, the self winding feature of the watch may be a boon at times, but if you're the sort of person who doesn't wear the watch for a few days for whatever reason, you'll have to wind it yourself because the motion winder will stop.
All in all, I think I do like this watch, it's strong and loud aesthetically. If you want to make a statement I think you'd rather enjoy getting your monster on!
