Bathroom window question re: install shower surround?

measurement from tub side edge to outside edge of thin wood trim (1/2 inch) around vinyl window is 70 inches. tub/shower surround is only 58" in height. new siding last year. suggestions to remove window, install a different window, etc. are $ outside of my budget. the tub surround was only $34 (awesome) so would like to go that route is poss. 100+ yr old home. exsisting walls are plaster - presence of H20 damage at tub edge exsist from us using a hand held shower to date which we attached to the plaster wall (poor choice noted). circuit breaker box is directly under this bathroom, so more then one need to address H20 issue exsist. sub floor in very good shape. bathroom is off kitchen and doorway is smalll (bi-fold door). bathroom only 68 inches wide by 64 deep. presently plumb enclosure built at tub faucet end w/idea build subwall there to allow 60"surround. w/bare window at top issue H20 between window/surround & see half window top
