5 Benefits of Portable Air Conditioners
Portable air conditioners are the cheapest and most simple air-conditioning units on the market. Simply plug the unit into the wall and you're ready to heat or cool a room. Although complex ducted systems and floor- or ceiling-mounted air conditioners offer many advantages, a portable air conditioner has the following benefits:
1. Affordability. While it might be nice to install a ducted air conditioning system in your home or office, for many people, this isn't affordable. It's much more cost-effective to install an air conditioner system as a home is being built than trying to add it later. If you're unable to afford the installation cost of a fully ducted air conditioning system, or you live in a small space like a studio apartment, a portable air conditioner could be the perfect solution.
2. Prevent Allergies: during certain months, allergies and hay fever reach their peak. Even if you don't suffer for the rest of the year, during the summer months you could really use an air conditioner to clear the air. Since you won't use it all the time, installing a ducted air conditioner wouldn't be the most economic choice, but a portable air conditioner unit could be moved from room to room with you, clearing the air and helping you breathe normally.
3. Great for Flats: If you're in a flatting situation or move around a lot, you won't be installing any kind of wall- or ceiling-mounted air conditioner. Buying a portable air-conditioner gives you the benefit of being able to regulate temperature wherever you live.
4. One-off events: Throwing a party or function and worried it might get too hot or too cold? A portable air-conditioner can be brought in to make the atmosphere more comfortable.
5. Back-up: your home might already have an air-conditioning system installed. What causes air conditioner to stop blowing air fast?
My air conditioner used to blow air fast, now it is very low. I can barely feel the air coming out of the vent. A few weeks ago the air froze and we had freon put it in, but it still blows air very slowly and it stays warm and humid in the house. The vents feel cold to touch, but its not cooling the house enough. Even the room closest to the unit isn't very cool. Living in the deep south it is very hot and very humid. Please help!
There is an airflow restriction in your system. Some causes are blocked air inlet for the return air, too high a density filter, slow blower speed or incorrect rotation, dirty indoor coil, dirty filter, loose insulation in the ducts or near the blower.
Also, a low charge of refrigerant, the metering device is restricted, the filter/drier is restricted.
Also, could be a weak blower motor capacitor, or motor bearings are seizing.
